ANTIQUE FRENCH BULLDOG ANTIQUE TOY PULL TOY GROWLER NODDING HEAD PAPER

For sale today I have paper mache French Bulldog Growler pull toy circa 1890's. This piece is in good shape considering it's age and the material it was constructed with. This dog measures about 18-1/2 long x 8" wide and 11-1/4" tall. This item rolls around on it's 4 little wooden wheels located inside feet, all the wheels are in good condition and rolls smoothly. The leather collar is studded all the way around and has a metal grommet where the pull chain enters the body. The growling function works great when pulling the chain, opening and closing the mouth smoothly all while making the growling noise. There are a few imperfections in this piece which I've tried to capture in the pictures. There's a missing piece of paper mache on the lower outter edge of the dogs jaw. There is also a missing piece of paper mache right below the dogs nose. Where the lower jaw connects to the hinging pieces is a little worn. The lower jaw has a hole on the bottom and the paper is wearing along the back where it hinges. Even with these small flaws this is still a beautiful piece that displays nicely. This item will be packaged extremely well and will be shipped with tracking and insurance.
